i could say it but you won't believe me

It seems that the proper mid-May attire will always be those light layers. We're approaching tank time, but until then it's nice to be able to wrap a kimono around your shoulders for the imminent breeze. The first of baby fireflies will emerge before you know it, and they'll dance in the humid skies until they are captured by mason jar. Aligning together in jars like constellations in the sky makes their relationships seem so simple and so free. Maybe we should take a cue from the little lightning bugs- or do you prefer when things are complicated?

elapsed

In the words of Mark from Rent, "I can't believe a year went by so fast." A year ago today, I was a lost little theater major at Muhlenberg. When I left, I didn't know if I was coming back or not because some hopeful part of myself convinced me to take one last shot at my dream school, knowing I had nothing to lose by trying. And as it turns out, I had everything to gain. I scored an awesome job at Free People, interned for CollegeFashionista, directed my own fashion show, and did some awesome shoots for Keep Calm! Shoutout to Celine and Ava especially for helping out with shoots. I'm really so grateful for this past year and grateful to all of the amazing people I met. And now I've moved out of my palace (seriously going to miss the best room/suite ever), packed up all my boxes (okay or I used Free People bags), and am finally home! ...Only to move back in a week. Can't keep me away from the city for too long.

Modcloth x Keep Calm and Chiffon

Hey guys! I'm really excited to announce that I have teamed up with Modcloth for their Uniquely You Campaign! I was given a styling challenge to create a look using their "The Way I Galaxy It Dress" (which, for any of you who know me knows this was perfect because I love galaxy prints!) I then created a story using Wanelo featuring some of my current favorites from the Modcloth website. As I mention in my story, one of my favorite things about dresses is that they're so versatile! I can easily imagine wearing this awesome dress all on its own, but it's fun to layer dresses as well! I paired this printed galaxy dress with a graphic tee that picks up on some of the colors in the dress. I also added in some funky sandals, a cute bag, a playful necklace and a floppy hat for an awesome spring look that's out of the box!
And there are so many more adorable dresses to choose from on Modcloth's website!

All products can be found on modcloth.com. Thanks to Amy for reaching out to me!

centralize

There are musts, and there are desires. Things we must do: laundry, study for finals, check your privilege, etc. Things we desire to do: "I really want to try that new coffee shop on 10th" or "We should definitely go to Coney Island this semester" or "Maybe some of us will go to a poetry slam downtown and try to pick up some artsy boys." Alas, the musts get done. But when do we push beyond the brainstorming and getting to the actual doing? Well now I can check "Shoot in Central Park" off my list of desires and hopefully be more productive in list-doings over the summer months.
